Garden & Green Roof
A rooftop landscape over an anti-root waterproofing system — soil, planting and drainage working safely above the structure.

One System, Built to Work Together.
Green roofs put living landscape on top of the building — which means constant moisture, and roots that actively attack whatever they can reach. The waterproofing layer must resist root penetration for the life of the roof.
Insutech Anti Root membranes are compounded specifically to stop root ingress, working under a drainage and filtration build-up that keeps the soil healthy and the structure dry.

Layer by Layer.
- 01
Substrate Preparation
The deck is cleaned, repaired and screeded to falls toward the drainage outlets.
- 02
Bituminous Primer
A primer coat ensures full adhesion of the first membrane layer to the deck.
- 03
Base Membrane Layer
A plain-finish membrane torch-applied as the first waterproofing layer.
- 04
Anti-Root Cap Layer
Anti Root APP or SBS membrane stops root penetration at the waterproofing line.
- 05
Protection & Drainage
Protection board plus a drainage layer carry excess water safely to the outlets.
- 06
Soil & Filtration
A filter fleece and growing medium sized to the planting design.
- 07
Planting
From sedum carpets to shrubs and trees, planted into the finished build-up.
Roots Stopped Cold
Anti-root compounded membranes prevent penetration at the source — no root barriers bolted on as an afterthought.
Constant-Moisture Rated
The system lives under damp soil year-round and is built for permanently wet service.
Cooler, Greener Buildings
Planted roofs insulate the structure, cut cooling loads and reclaim usable space.
