InsuGuard Rubber Base
INSUGUARD RB is a low-viscosity, rubberized water-based emulsified bitumen liquid that penetrates deeply into concrete to form a monolithic, flexible waterproofing film.

Engineered for the job it protects.
INSUGUARD RB is a low-viscosity, rubberized water-based emulsified bitumen liquid that penetrates deeply into concrete to form a monolithic, flexible waterproofing film. Brown in color, it dries to a glossy black finish, combining high solid content with a formula carefully engineered from selected raw materials blended with a high content of bitumen. It is also used as a primer for bituminous membranes and can be provided as a non-toxic product.
Applied cold by brush, roller, or airless spray gun at temperatures above 10°C, INSUGUARD RB functions both as a standalone waterproofing and damp-proofing coating and as a high-build primer for waterproofing systems. Its non-flammable, non-hazardous formulation — combined with compliance to ASTM C309 as a curing compound for concrete — ensures performance and environmental responsibility.
- High build adhesion to most substrates (concrete, steel, wood, etc.)
- Deeper concrete surface penetration due to purity of product
- Acts as a curing compound for concrete by retaining water (ASTM C309)
- Environmentally friendly, non-hazardous, and non-flammable
- Resistance to attacks of salts and chemicals
- High coverage and hiding rate

Application, Step by Step.
Clean the surface of dust, oil and loose particles, then repair cracks and honeycombs so the coating bonds to a sound, stable substrate.
Stir the emulsion thoroughly before use to an even consistency, diluting the first coat only where the technical datasheet requires it.
Apply the first coat evenly by brush, roller or airless spray, working it well into the surface and around all details and corners.
Allow the first coat to dry completely — typically a few hours depending on temperature — before applying any of the following coats.
Apply the second and any further coats perpendicular to the previous one, respecting the coverage rates given in the technical datasheet.
Protect the finished coating from rain and mechanical damage until fully cured, and backfill or screed only after complete drying.
