EPP Automotive Molds
Advanced expanded polypropylene (EPP) automotive components — delivering superior energy absorption, thermal resistance, repeated impact recovery, and precision geometry for safety-critical and high-performance automotive applications.

Engineered for the job it protects.
Insutech's EPP Automotive Molds produce expanded polypropylene (EPP) foam components for demanding automotive applications where EPS cannot meet performance requirements. EPP's unique combination of recoverable energy absorption, higher temperature resistance, and greater chemical resistance makes it the preferred material for bumper energy absorbers, child seat components, interior safety trim, knee bolsters, and automotive packaging that must withstand repeated impacts.
Unlike EPS which permanently deforms after major impact, EPP foam recovers its original shape after lower-energy impacts — making it ideal for reusable automotive packaging, components that must absorb multiple minor impacts across vehicle life, and crash management systems where consistent energy absorption must be maintained. Insutech moulds EPP to the same tight tolerances required by automotive OEM supply chains.
- Unique impact recovery property — recovers shape after lower-energy compression events
- Higher operating temperature than EPS — suitable for under-bonnet and heated interior applications
- Superior chemical and oil resistance for engine bay proximity applications
- Excellent energy absorption for safety-critical bumper and interior impact applications
- Precision-moulded to automotive OEM dimensional and surface quality standards
- Compatible with automotive fabric, film, and adhesive lamination processes
- Consistent batch-to-batch quality for automotive production line supply
- Available in all EPP densities to meet diverse performance requirements
Recoverable Energy Absorption
EPP's polymer structure allows the foam to recover its original shape after lower-energy impacts — a unique capability that makes it ideal for reusable automotive packaging, multi-impact safety systems, and components requiring long-term shape retention.
High Temperature Performance
EPP maintains its mechanical properties at temperatures up to 130°C — far exceeding EPS's capability — making it suitable for under-bonnet, heated luggage compartment, and proximity-to-exhaust automotive applications.
Chemical & Fuel Resistance
EPP is resistant to automotive oils, fuels, coolants, and cleaning agents — enabling deployment in engine bay and underbody environments where EPS foam would be degraded by chemical exposure.
Safety-Critical Energy Absorption
EPP delivers consistent, controlled energy absorption in bumper systems, knee bolsters, door side impact pads, and child seat components — meeting automotive safety standards while minimising system weight.
Precision Automotive-Grade Moulding
Insutech EPP components are moulded to the dimensional accuracy and surface quality required by automotive OEM and tier-1 supply chains — ensuring consistent fit, assembly compatibility, and performance across production volumes.
Reusable Automotive Packaging
EPP's recovery property makes it the premier material for reusable automotive component packaging — absorbing transit impacts then recovering to provide continued protection across dozens of return trips.
