Insuboard Protection Board
INSUBOARD consists of a modified bitumen compound with selected additives, sandwiched between double layers of saturated reinforcements to provide a robust, protective board.

Engineered for the job it protects.
INSUBOARD consists of a modified bitumen compound with selected additives, sandwiched between double layers of saturated reinforcements to provide a robust, protective board. Its high resistance to puncture and impact creates an effective barrier against sharp aggregate fill materials and other construction hazards, safeguarding waterproofing membranes during and after installation.
In addition to its protective role, INSUBOARD functions as a secondary waterproofing layer, enhancing the overall performance of the waterproofing system. It can be used as a walk pad over exposed roofs, as a protection panel around mechanical equipment, or installed below-grade against foundations — loose-laid, adhesive-bonded, or torch-welded to suit the application.
- Resistant to penetration of backfilling materials and accidental damage from site operations
- Water resistant towards wet soil conditions
- Cost saving by eliminating the need for screed and masonry protection
- Compatible with most waterproofing systems, especially bituminous systems
- Time saving and easy to install
- Resistant to chemicals and salts found in soil

Application, Step by Step.
Confirm the waterproofing membrane below is complete, sound and approved before any protection boards are placed over its surface.
Measure and cut Insuboard panels to fit the area, allowing tight joints around penetrations, corners and all construction details.
Place the boards directly against the membrane surface, butting edges tightly together and staggering joints between adjacent rows.
Bond the boards with a compatible adhesive or spot-fix them as specified, avoiding any fixing method that could puncture the membrane.
Tape or seal the board joints where specified so the protection layer stays fully continuous during backfilling and other site works.
Backfill or cast the following layers promptly, compacting in controlled lifts and keeping sharp objects away from the protected face.
