Insutech is the exclusive, sole authorised distributor of Protan AS products in Egypt, including Protan SE. We provide direct access to this certified PVC-P roofing membrane for Egyptian roofing contractors, engineers, and developers, backed by local technical support and project advisory services.
Protan SE is a UV-stabilised, flexible PVC-P (plasticised polyvinyl chloride) roofing membrane, reinforced with a non-woven polyester (PES) or fibreglass (FG) scrim. Available in 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, and 2.0 mm nominal thicknesses, Protan SE is CE marked under EN 13956 with DoP certificate 1071-CPR-1142.
Protan SE is designed for flat and low-slope roofing on a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Its high UV resistance — 5,000 h artificial weathering passed — and Broof(t1) fire classification make it suitable for exposed and demanding roof environments across Egypt and the wider Middle East region.
- UV stability: 5,000 h artificial weathering passed (EN 1297)
- Tensile strength ≥1,100 N/50 mm (EN 12311-2)
- Elongation at break ≥15% (EN 12311-2)
- Impact resistance (falling mass): ≥800 mm (EN 12691)
- Cold foldability ≤−25°C (EN 495-5)
- Fire classification: Broof(t1) (EN 13501-5)
- CE marked: EN 13956, DoP 1071-CPR-1142
- Available thicknesses: 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm
Application, Step by Step.
Prepare a clean, smooth and dry substrate, free of sharp projections, and install the specified separation or protection layer first.
Roll out the membrane sheets with the correct orientation and overlaps, letting the material relax before any fixing begins on site.
Fix the membrane mechanically or ballast it as designed, following the fastening pattern set out in the project specification exactly.
Weld all overlaps with calibrated hot-air equipment, keeping speed and temperature consistent to produce homogeneous, strong seams.
Test every seam with a probe or vacuum bell, repairing any imperfection immediately before the works are covered over or flooded.
Complete corners, drains and penetrations with prefabricated details, then verify the whole installation carefully before handover.
