XPS & EPS Insulation

Roof Insulation

XPS above the membrane in the inverted warm-roof build-up — insulation that shields the waterproofing while it insulates the building.

Roof Insulation
The Solution

One System, Built to Work Together.

In an inverted roof the insulation sits on top of the waterproofing, shielding the membrane from sun and temperature swings. The boards live outdoors, wet and loaded — a role XPS was made for.

Insutech XPS boards lay loose over the finished membrane under a filter layer and ballast, delivering the U-value while doubling the life of the waterproofing beneath.

Where It's Used
  • Inverted flat roofs
  • Ballasted and paved roofs
  • Roof terraces over insulation
  • Plant deck areas
  • Refurbishment over sound membranes
System Build-Up

Layer by Layer.

  1. 01

    Roof Deck

The structural deck, screeded to falls toward the outlets.

  2. 02

    Waterproofing Membrane

The membrane goes down first — warm and protected beneath everything above.

  3. 03

    XPS Insulation Boards

Moisture-proof boards laid loose over the membrane, joints tight.

  4. 04

    Filter Layer

A fleece keeps fines out while letting rainwater drain through.

  5. 05

    Ballast / Paving

Gravel or pavers hold the build-up down and finish the roof.

Key Benefits
01

Protects the Membrane

Insulation over the waterproofing shields it from UV and thermal shock — the membrane lasts far longer.

02

Performs Wet

Closed-cell XPS keeps insulating in an exposed, rain-washed build-up.

03

Walkable Build-Up

High-strength boards under pavers turn the roof into usable space.

04

Simple to Re-Roof

Loose-laid layers lift and relay for inspection or refurbishment.
