Bridge Decks
Torch-applied membranes between the concrete deck and the asphalt overlay — protecting the structure that carries the road.

One System, Built to Work Together.
A bridge deck deteriorates from the top down: water finds its way through the wearing course, reaches the reinforcement and starts corrosion the traffic above never sees. The membrane between deck and asphalt is the structure's only barrier.
Insutech supplies heavy-duty SBS and APP membranes for deck waterproofing — fully bonded to the prepared concrete so water cannot track beneath, and robust enough to receive the asphalt overlay and the paving train that lays it.
- Highway and overpass decks
- Bridge approach slabs
- Ramps and elevated roads
- Culverts and underpasses
- Trafficked service decks

Layer by Layer.
- 01
Deck Preparation
The concrete deck is blast-cleaned and made good, with falls and drainage checked zone by zone.
- 02
Bituminous Primer
Priming seals the concrete surface and anchors the fully bonded system.
- 03
Membrane System
Heavy SBS or APP membranes are torch-applied with full bond — no path for water to travel beneath.
- 04
Edge & Gully Details
Kerbs, drainage gullies and joints are detailed before any paving reaches the deck.
- 05
Asphalt Overlay
The wearing course is paved over the membrane, completing the deck build-up.
Built for the Paving Train
High-strength reinforced membranes take the heat and loads of asphalt overlay without damage.
Fully Bonded, No Tracking
Complete adhesion to the deck means a local defect stays local — water cannot migrate beneath.
Torch-Applied Control
Every lap is welded and inspectable before the deck disappears under the road.
Certified Manufacture
CE-marked, ISO-certified membranes specified on infrastructure across 105+ markets.
