Engineered for the job it protects.
Manufactured through a high-tech calendering process, Insuprene features a non-woven polyester carrier saturated and coated with SBS elastomer-modified bitumen. It achieves cold temperature flexibility down to -25°C and offers a longitudinal tensile strength of 900 N/5cm with elongation at break of up to 50–55%, placing it among the most technically advanced membranes in the SBS product range. These properties make it highly capable of withstanding extreme freeze-thaw cycles, significant structural movement, and demanding mechanical loads. Insuprene is ideal for flat and sloped roofs, foundations, basements, tunnels, wet areas, and slab-on-grade construction in regions with cold or highly variable climates.
Applied via torch-on installation, Insuprene forms a seamless, robust waterproofing layer with strong adhesion to concrete, metal, and other prepared surfaces. Its high-performance SBS compound ensures long-term elasticity and recovery under repeated thermal movement, preventing cracking, delamination, and water ingress over the lifetime of the installation. Available with surface finishes including colored slates, aluminum foil, sand, and polyethylene film, Insuprene is the choice for projects where maximum cold-climate flexibility, mechanical resilience, and waterproofing reliability are non-negotiable requirements.
- Premium SBS elastomeric modified bitumen with cold temperature flexibility down to -25°C
- Ultra-high tensile strength of 900 N/5cm with up to 55% elongation at break
- Outstanding resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, cracking, and structural movement
- Suitable for demanding roofing, foundations, basements, tunnels, and infrastructure projects
- Torch-on application delivering a seamless, long-lasting waterproofing barrier
The underside of the membrane is laminated with a thin, thermo-fusible polyethylene burn-off film to ensure efficient torch application and optimal adhesion. The membrane is available with a wide range of upper surface finishes, including multi-colored mineral slates, aluminum foil, sanded finishes, and polyethylene film.

Custom surface options and colors are available on request.

Application, Step by Step.
Clean the substrate of dust, debris and standing water, then repair any cracks or voids so the membrane can bond to a sound, even surface.
Apply a bituminous primer evenly across the whole surface and allow it to dry completely before any membrane work begins on the area.
Unroll and align the membrane on the primed surface, allowing the specified side and end overlaps before any bonding takes place.
Heat the burn-off film with a propane torch while progressively unrolling, pressing the membrane firmly onto the prepared substrate.
Torch and seal every overlap with a rounded trowel, checking each joint to achieve continuous, fully watertight seams across the surface.
Finish upstands, drains and penetrations with reinforcing details, then protect the membrane before backfilling, screeding or tiling.
