InsuExtra
Insuextra is manufactured through a high-tech calendering process in which a non-woven polyester carrier is saturated and coated with APP polymer-modified bitumen compound.

Engineered for the job it protects.
Insuextra is manufactured through a high-tech calendering process in which a non-woven polyester carrier is saturated and coated with APP polymer-modified bitumen compound. With a tensile strength of 900 N/5cm longitudinally and 700 N/5cm transversally — among the highest in the APP range — and an elongation at break of up to 50%, Insuextra is engineered to withstand significant mechanical loads and substrate movement. Its cold temperature flexibility extends to -10°C, and it maintains flow resistance at elevated temperatures up to 120°C, making it adaptable to climates with wide temperature variations. Suitable applications include roofing systems, foundations, basements, podiums, tunnels, wet areas, and slab-on-grade.
Installed using torch-on application, Insuextra bonds securely to concrete, metal, and other prepared substrates to form a seamless, high-integrity waterproofing barrier. Its APP modification provides excellent resistance to UV exposure, ageing, and heat, extending the service life of the installation even in harsh outdoor conditions. With surface finish options including colored slates, aluminum foil, sand, and polyethylene film, Insuextra delivers both outstanding technical performance and installation versatility for complex or high-load construction projects.
- High-strength APP modified bitumen with 900 N/5cm tensile strength for demanding applications
- Heavy-duty polyester reinforcement delivering superior mechanical performance and longevity
- Excellent UV and heat resistance with flow resistance up to 120°C
- Suitable for roofing, foundations, podiums, tunnels, and high-stress wet areas
- Torch-on application for secure adhesion and seamless, durable coverage
The underside of the membrane is laminated with a thin, thermo-fusible polyethylene burn-off film to ensure efficient torch application and optimal adhesion. The membrane is available with a wide range of upper surface finishes, including multi-colored mineral slates, aluminum foil, sanded finishes, and polyethylene film.

Custom surface options and colors are available on request.

Application, Step by Step.
Clean the substrate of dust, debris and standing water, then repair any cracks or voids so the membrane can bond to a sound, even surface.
Apply a bituminous primer evenly across the whole surface and allow it to dry completely before any membrane work begins on the area.
Unroll and align the membrane on the primed surface, allowing the specified side and end overlaps before any bonding takes place.
Heat the burn-off film with a propane torch while progressively unrolling, pressing the membrane firmly onto the prepared substrate.
Torch and seal every overlap with a rounded trowel, checking each joint to achieve continuous, fully watertight seams across the surface.
Finish upstands, drains and penetrations with reinforcing details, then protect the membrane before backfilling, screeding or tiling.
