Product Overview

Engineered for the job it protects.

Insutech EPS 35 Block is Insutech’s premium expanded polystyrene block, manufactured at 35 kg/m³ (±5%). Available as standard 4m × 1.20m × 1m blocks or cut to any custom dimension, EPS 35 is specified for the most demanding construction applications — delivering the maximum compressive strength (≥ 250 kPa) and bending strength (≥ 350 kPa) of any density in the Insutech block range.

With a thermal conductivity of ≤ 0.032 W/mK, Insutech EPS 35 Block also achieves the best thermal performance in the range, making it the premium choice wherever maximum insulation efficiency and maximum structural integrity must coexist in a single material.

Key Features
  • Lowest thermal conductivity in range: ≤ 0.032 W/mK for maximum insulation performance
  • Highest compressive strength: ≥ 250 kPa for extreme industrial and heavy-load applications
  • Highest bending strength: ≥ 350 kPa for structural geofoam and shuttering applications
  • Available in standard 4m × 1.20m × 1m blocks or custom CNC-cut shapes
  • White, closed-cell EPS — moisture-resistant and dimensionally stable
  • Low water absorption: ≤ 3% by volume (EN 12087)
  • Class E fire rating per EN 13501-1; maximum service temperature 75°C
  • Superior resistance to sustained compressive creep in industrial cold stores and slabs

Installation

Application, Step by Step.

01 / 06
01Plan the layout

Set out the block layout from the drawings, confirming spans, spacing and bearing details before any blocks are placed on site.

02Prepare the supports

Prepare and level the supporting joists, beams or substrate, checking that bearings are clean, aligned and ready to receive blocks.

03Place the blocks

Place the blocks tightly together along the supports, working row by row and cutting end pieces cleanly for a snug, stable fit.

04Check alignment

Check lines, levels and joints across the whole area, adjusting any misplaced blocks before reinforcement or services are installed.

05Install reinforcement

Fix the specified reinforcement and route any services, keeping the block surfaces undamaged and joints fully closed throughout.

06Pour and finish

Pour the structural topping or finish layers as specified, compacting carefully so the completed system performs as it was designed.
